Risk factors in Preterm labor
Preterm labor is the start of regular contractions before 37 weeks gestational age that can lead to changes in preparation for delivery. Approximately 1 in 10 deliveries worldwide involves a preterm birth. The impact does not only include emotional, mental, physical, and financial strain but it can lead to long-term consequences.
In celebration of the World Prematurity Day 2024: “Unang Yakap ni Nanay: Maliit na Bagay, Ramdam Habang Buhay”, the PSMFM engages pregnant women to recognize individual risk factors that can possibly lead to a preterm labor. By understanding this aspect, both the pregnant woman and her healthcare provider can take steps to reduce their chances of a preterm labor and ensure a healthy and mindful pregnancy.
Consult with your healthcare provider to discuss your individual risks and possible preventive measures.
