The Philippine Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (PSMFM) is pleased to invite everyone to the First Workshop on Electronic Fetal Monitoring, entitled, ” Electronic Fetal Monitoring Made Easy” on June 2, 2018 at the Quezon City Sports Complex. The Society intends to make electronic fetal monitoring more understandable, not only for obstetricians but also for other health providers involved in the care of the parturient. We will be delivering comprehensive and clear lectures, as well as interactive case discussions, which will enhance and update the knowledge of the participant, and develop the clinical skills in the interpretation of electronic fetal monitoring traces.
We will adopt the latest International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) consensus guidelines on intrapartum fetal monitoring. During the didactic sessions, we will provide the background on the physiology and indications of fetal monitoring. The workshop also aims to discuss the evaluation and classification of tracings, as well as the management of pathologic tracings so that the health care provider will be able to institute timely intervention to improve perinatal outcome. Actual traces will be shown and reviewed during the afternoon interactive small group discussions, to be facilitated by various maternal fetal medicine specialists.
At the end of the event, the PSMFM takes pride in the launching of a book , bearing the same title, which will provide a more detailed discussion on electronic fetal monitoring.
Through this endeavor, the Society hopes to strengthen our knowledge on electronic fetal monitoring in order for us to hone our skills, and provide the best care to our pregnant patients and improve perinatal outcomes. Please await the details of the event as well as as the Scientific Program. We are hoping for your participation in this most- awaited workshop!
